BRING YAGEV
HOME. NOW.
YAGEV BUCHSHTAB
Please meet Yagev:
Yagev is the eldest son of Oren and Esther, Nufar and Yuval’s older brother. He was born on January 23, 1989, and raised amongst the beautiful fields of Kibbutz Nirim (Western Negev), on the border of the Gaza Strip.
As a curious and intelligent kid, Yagev loved cars, animals and dinosaurs (of which he even knew all the different kinds along with their scientific names) .
Doctor Seuss books took a significant place in his bookshelf, and when he grew up a bit, he truly discovered the universe of reading, going on fascinating journeys with Harry Potter and his friends at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Yagev is a quiet and humble person, with a wide range of passions from poetry to music, philosophy, politics and much more. A true autodidact who never stops expanding his knowledge and fields of interest.
HIS MUSIC
Music is very dear to his heart. When he started learning to play guitar and cello, he was recognized as a gifted musician. In his high school years, he was part of a band where he mainly played guitar.
As an autodidact, he did not stop at formal music studies and instead taught himself to play the organ, flute, clarinet, melodica and more. Each new instrument intrigues him, fascinates him, and opens up a whole new and magical world for him. Together with his brother Yuval, Yagev experiments with building electric guitars and other instruments.
Later on, Yagev studied acoustics and ran a recording studio together with a friend. As usual, he never gave up until every recording that came through his hands was as good as perfect.
Yagev’s younger years were spent at the Ma’ale Hashur school and the educational institution of Hashomer Hatzair, where Yagev really enjoyed all the activities. You’d always find him either playing music, or at the sound stand.
HIS FOOD
Yagev has loved to cook from a young age. He sees the kitchen as a place of true creation that allows to experiment with different techniques and test new ideas.
Yagev and Rimon met in their youth, in a band where they played together. They rekindled their relationship a few years ago, and about two years ago got married in a modest and intimate wedding in his parent’s’ backyard.
Rimon and Yagev live together in Kibbutz Nirim, building their nest and raising abandoned dogs and cats with love, devotion and compassion.
All of this was interrupted on the horrible, unimaginable morning of October 7th.
There is still so much for him to discover between the music notes and the pots and pans. There is still so much to build and nurture in this couple’s home, both together and individually.
The road is just beginning, and they must return right now to their parents, siblings, family and friends for good days to come.
